I plan on giving mom a months worth of parking vouchers for Mass General Hospital, so she can visit my dad for free..he is currently waiting for a heart transplant and can't come home w/o one..so off to Boston we go, everyday & parking is $20.00 a day!!!
I'd like to get her something besides a hanging plant (my stand-by, last minute Mother's Day staple for the past 5 years running). Maybe I'll bump it up and go with a shrub.
Actually the woman needs one of those cordless phones with extensions in each room because she never puts her cordless back in the cradle (so the battery dies) or she can never find it when it rings, then I get the voicemail.

I am getting my Mother a Tea Cup Chihuahua this year. She has been wanting one for so long ... and now she can finally have one. She is 9oz now. Her Mother only weighs 18oz., so cute and tiny! :O) Can't wait to see the look on my Mom's face! I will take a photo of both (dog & Mom's face)! Thanks for the great giveaways.

For Mother's Day I am getting my Mother a pantry cart! She saw one she loved at Bed, Bath and Beyond and I ended up purchasing it for her when I received a 20% coupon from them in the mail, I figured it was a sign I should run and get it for her, she is going to be so surprised, and this is a functional product she can really use! I wish I knew what I plan to get mom for mother's day. I'm such a slouch.
I just last night told L not to get me anything for mother's day and my birthday because what I really want is a week away with the kids once they are out of school for the summer. That would be the best gift ever.
Now, how do I break it to them that I'm taking away their phones for that week?
Do you think they would mount an uprising/kill me in my sleep?

I got my mom a silly post-it note pad. It's got a giraffe on it and says "aim high." My mother-in-law gets a broach I got on clearance after Christmas, and my Grandma and Grandma-in-Law are getting bejeweled notepads I got in Chinatown.
I love to give plants to my mom. She loves to have new plants to add to her garden and it is a nice reminder that I love her everytime she is in her garden!
