Today it was an obnoxious 97 degrees in the Chicago suburbs. Davey and I both hate the heat and have a hard time tolerating it. Here is Dave hard at work to keep cool this evening:
He is such a hard worker that boy. I have my eye on a cooling mat like this one to help the poor puggle get through the rest of the summer.

I bought that very same cooler bed for my Labrador. It was lovely for several summers, but it split on the seams in several different places - and not from abuse of any kind! I tried repairing it with vinyl repair kit (one for pool liners) that I got from Leslie's. It worked okay, but be forewarned that the "puncture resistant" claim might be accurate, but note they don't mention anything about "tear resistant" because they could never stand behind that!

My little dog gets heated up easily, but it takes him forever to cool down. I feel so bad for him.
I guess I should look into cooling mats, too. My problem is he thinks his bed is his girlfriend. He never sleeps on it, but he often has his way with it.
